A year is shorter than a day?

One day on the planet Mercury is two times as long as its year.

Why? Mercury rotates really slowly but revolves around the sun in just under 88 days.

So then how often would a person celebrate their birthday on Mercury??

    I’d say once in daylight and once in the dark every day. Imagine those long sunshiny days! (escape to Venus at night-time?)
