If I’m not transported in the story, it’s a disappointment. I treat each book as if I’m a bystander watching the scenes as they unfold. I like to see in my mind’s eye the people, surroundings, and emotions. I know I’m engaged when I can’t put the book down until I’m done. The story has to also have all the elements of a good story to hook me. If not, I feel cheated.

Terri, thanks for the opportunity to meet you, explore your site and your work.

I’m so thrilled to meet you, too, Belinda. And very happy you came by to visit. I agree that I don’t like feeling cheated with a book, and it’s rare that I can’t finish one I’ve started — though it’s happened. It’s a wonderful thing when you finish a book and it sticks with you for a long time. For me, my favorites are still in my head, even years later!

Yes, I do! That’s why I read. But it’s still important that I can relate to the characters on some level.
